We're all ears when it comes to Benjamin Moore's annual trend forecasting – the industry-leading paint company has just revealed its colour palette of 2024.
Unveiling a group of colours that will be highly influential in the year ahead, we were especially excited to see which colour Benjamin Moore have chosen as their Colour of the Year – a colour the experts predict will explode in the world of interior design and decorating in 2024.
Colour of the Year 2024
Benjamin Moore's Colour of the Year for 2024 is Blue Nova 825, a mid-tone blue inspired by the night sky and the brilliance of a new star formed in space. It's described as a blend of blue with violet, an evocative tone that brings to mind the celestial world beyond and calls on us to explore undiscovered depths.
The hints of red in the violet undertones mean Blue Nova is not cold feeling, as sometimes is the case with blue. Instead, the blue inspires us to contemplate the transcendence of the sky while offering an underlying feeling of cosiness and solace.
'Blue Nova 825 continues the trend of using use eye-catching colours that hold a true presence, paired with the need to make the home a sanctuary that reflects personal style,' says Helen Shaw, director of marketing (international) at Benjamin Moore. 'To create a complementary scheme, combine with a vibrant terracotta to produce a high contrast and energising look to a room. For a more subtle approach, use as an accent colour to highlight architectural features such as the picture rail or skirting board.
'This works particularly well in a small space where Blue Nova 825 is the anchor, allowing for the contrasting colour to bring warmth, creating an unexpected and dynamic space.'

Colour trends palette 2024
Benjamin Moore predict 2024 will be a year to give in to gentleness – prioritising more faded, dusty and vintage-inspired colours that offer timelessness and versatility. The 10-strong colour palette offers infinite opportunities for home decorating projects.
The boldest of the bunch is a glowing burnt orange. At the prettier end of the spectrum we find a summer sky blue and two shades of blushing rose pink. Neutrals include a useful off-white, a soft warm yellow, a tarnished silver, a grey with lilac undertones, and a velvety dark green.
