I find that some of the recipes that come in the Ninja Foodicookbook need adjustments for seasoning but the cooking times seem right on. The roast chicken recipe that came in the NInja Foodi did not call for seasoning the chicken at all before cooking and that gets a big no from me. I seasoned the chicken inside, outside and underneath the skin with my seasoned salt recipe. GET THE SEASONED SALT RECIPE HERE

The NInja Foodi is large (about14.25 x 16.75 x 13.10 Inches) and heavy (about 20 pounds). Still smaller than buying two separate appliances but needs to be considered if space is an issue. At the time of this post, it cost about $180 at Sam’s Club and Walmart.

Ninja Foodi Review roast chicken

This roast chicken recipe uses both the pressure cooker feature as well as the air fryer feature. Pressure cooking the chicken greatly speeds up the cooking time while air frying gets the chicken skin all nice and crispy.

The chicken came out nice and moist on the inside and air frying gave the skin a nice, crispy finish. I was very happy with the results. I’m doing more testing but so far I really like the Ninja Foodi!

It can be a bit tricky to get the chicken out of the pan without it falling apart. I used these heat resistant silicon gloves to lift the chicken out of the Ninja Foodi. Here’s a link for them on Amazon

Thanks for this video. I have the Ninja foodi and love it. I use it for almost everything. However I wasn’t too sure how the whole chicken would come out, so I’m glad you posted this. I am going to checkout the link above about cleaning the lid. My question is though, do you think I could roast chicken legs and thighs in the foodi? And if so, how long and at what temperature do you recommend?
