We get it, many people love Black. Sadly for some, it doesn't give the same love back.Deeps, Cools and Clears will all haveBlack in their wallets; it's a really useful neutral. We give Lights, Warms and Softs 'alternative' Blacks such asLight Navy, Chocolate, Charcoal and Medium Grey (to name but a few). Depending on your palette, you can combine these neutrals with others tonally, or in contrast with other shades.
If this still isn't doing it for you and you have a big 'Black' hole in your life, then we don't say no.Atcolour me beautiful, we never tell anyone that they cannot wear a certain colour. We do however show you how to wear it.
Little adjustments can make the biggest difference. A neckline for instance. A v-neck is much more flattering than acrew neck, as the black isn't directly under your chin so it will not reflect dark, ugly shadows upwards across your face. Consider fabric; wool absorbs light whereas satin bounces the light making black seem even stronger. Therefore opt for light absorbing fabrics and even 'washed' black.
Of course the best way to 'rescue' your black, is to combine it with one of your flattering colours, worn next to your face.Lights should keep this secondary shade, light and delicate (eg. Mint). Warms should aim to 'warm up' their black up (eg. Lime) and Softs should aim to soften it (eg. Soft Violet).
We also suggest that youconsider the jewellry that you're wearing. Cool skin tonesshould opt for Silver, Warm skin tones should opt for Gold. If you aren't particularly cool or warm, try pewter.

How do I know what color suits my face? âș
The key to choosing flattering colours is to understand if your natural colouring is either warm or cool, and then 'match' your clothing colours. It is important to note that the colours that most affect how you look are those that you wear next to your face, through tops, scarves, or jewellery.
How do I find my right skin color? âș
In natural light, check the appearance of your veins beneath your skin.
- If your veins appear blue or purple, you have a cool skin tone.
- If your veins look green or a greenish blue, you have a warm skin tone.
- If you can't tell whether or not your veins are green or blue, you probably have a neutral skin tone.
According to a study called âShades of beauty,â light brown skin tones are often the most physically attractive skin color (Frisby et al., 2006).

As for the least preferred colors, yellow is mentioned in eight studies, while orange and green-yellow are mentioned in five studies each. Thus, the most attractive color is blue, the second most preferred is red, followed by green, while yellow was found to be the least preferred color (Figure 1).

Sidhu and colleagues found that black and red clothing produced the highest ratings of body attractiveness and slimmer body size judgments. In contrast, grey and green clothes produced the lowest body attractiveness and highest body size assessments.
