The frose recipe that we created is just sweet enough AND tastes like rosé wine. Our friends who very willingly volunteered as our taste testers absolutely loved it. Wondering how to makefrozen rosé? The 3 frose ingredients

The key to this frose recipe? Strawberries! They enhance the natural sweetness of the wine and add body to the frozen puree. You’ll need just 3 ingredients for this co*cktail recipe:

  • Rosé wine
  • Strawberries
  • Honey

So easy, right? It’s not just rose that’s frozen: simply freezing the wine makes it bitter and flat-tasting. Afroze recipe includes sugar to offset the bitterness and strawberries to add some color and additional flavor. Besides these few ingredients, you’ll also need a blender.

How to makefrose

Frose is very simple to make: the hardest part is thinking ahead! Here’s what to know about the process:

  • Blend up the berries, rose and honey (or maple syrup): then strain. Pour the ingredients into a covered baking dish.
  • Freeze for 6 hours or overnight! Here’s the key: you’ll need 6 hours to freeze! It’s easiest to whip up thefrose recipe the night before, then blend and serve the day of.Or do it in the morning for evening entertaining!

How to store it!

Want to prep this frose recipe in advance? You can keep the blended wine and strawberries mixture in your freezer for a few days before serving it. As long as you keep it in a sealed container, your frose should keep well in the freezer! Try not to keep it frozen for too long though, since the fresh strawberries and the rose wine lose some of their flavor once frozen.

What makes this the best frosé recipe?

To put our spin onfrozen rose, we wanted a healthier frose recipe that’s pretty simple to make and tastes just like rosé wine! Here are a few features that we think makes it the best:

  • It’s sweetened just enough with no refined sugar. Manyfrose recipes can be overly sweet. Here we’ve used honey to make a naturally sweetfrose recipe. You can also use maple syrup or agave syrup for vegan.
  • It’s got a splash of wine when serving. The secret to this frose recipe: add a splash of room temperature rose when serving! This makes it just sweet enough, since freezing the wine dulls the sweetness. It also brings in a nice slushy texture.

When to drink frosé

Drinking frose might be a tiny bit cliché, but that’s ok with us! It’s such a refreshing summer drink, we can’t get enough of it. We drink it all the time with summer meals on the patio!

Frozen rose is a heightened version of the wine that brings a fun vibe to however you drink it. Drink it with appetizers on the patio, or to accompany a summer grilled meal. Try it with loaded grilled nachos or our ultimate grilled veggie burger.

Description

This all natural frose recipe is simple, has no refined sugar, and tastes just like rosé wine! Here’s how to make frozen rosé.

Ingredients

Scale

  • 1750mL bottle rose wine (one you like to drink; we like ours on the dry side)
  • 8 large strawberries (about 1 ½ cups ripe strawberries, halved), plus more for garnish
  • 1 tablespoon honey (or maple syrup for vegan)

Instructions

  1. Open the rosé and pour 2/3 cup into a glass measuring cup; set aside for when serving.
  2. Remove the tops of the strawberries and cut them in half.
  3. In a blender, blend the remaining rose, strawberries, and honey until smooth and fully combined. Then pour the mixture through a strainer and into a covered baking dish.
  4. Transfer the baking dish to the freezer and freeze at least 6 hours, or overnight. (The alcohol in the mixture will keep it a slushy texture instead of freezing solid.) Blend the mixture again until it comes to a fluffy texture.
  5. To serve, place the blended mixture into a glass. Then pour a splash of rose into each glass (this step is important: it gives the final texture and brings in the character of therose). If desired, garnish with strawberries and serve.
